When is your anniversary in the banking industry?

How long has it been?

In banking since June 1964 (summers). Full time since June 1966, with three years off for Army. Officially exited banking 4/30/2004.

BOL anniversary? 10/27/2000. I guess that makes me close to a charter member? I think I was user 17.

4-1-88, currently on bank #6 as a result of 2 acquisitions, one "they eliminated the department", and 2 "I found a better job"'s. (And this one is the best yet!)

December 5, 1979 I'm on my fourth bank and have been in compliance for 10 years. Funny when I think back on it, I thought I was fairly versed in loan compliance 8-10 years ago and then learned I knew nothing. Now, often, I still feel that way.

Also - I started in banking when I was 10 <grin>.

Started in 1979 at the age of 3 I've been teller, head teller, manager, regional branch coordinator, auditor, facilities manager, student loan officer, security officer, trainer and now keeper of the alphabet (OFAC/BSA/CIP/AML/ MOUSE) For years I used BOL for info and games for training but never opened the threads. How was I to know all these great people were hiding in here? Glad I found ya'll!!

June 1, 1987. Of course, I was a child prodigy as well. It's amazing how much banking has changed in that time. I was an auditor for a multi-bank holding company when I started, and we still had several banks that filed checks by hand behind the customer's signature card every day!!

My 2nd BOL anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks! How did I ever do my job before BOL?!

Banking - May, 1985 (19 years! )

Compliance - October, 1993

I never stayed in any other position longer than 3 years. I always got bored. I'm still waiting to get bored with Compliance.

BOL - I don't remember, but this post will tell. I was registered previously but forgot my password when I moved to a different bank.

I was with a major finance company in 81, banking formally in 83. But like that old TV commercial said, "I'm not getting older, I'm getting confused". Or something like that.

How about 1974 and the first job they gave the college graduate was rolling coin and bundling mutilated currency. They called it Management Trainee. The day I got my own desk, office with a window still a long way off, I was soooo happy. Something tells me things have not changed much!

April 23, 1984 as a result of hating the management trainee program at K-Mart. I quit with no other job and ended up back home working at the local bank with a $400/month cut in pay! Worked my way up and in 1998 left there as Internal Audtor/Compliance Officer. Took two years off to raise my kids and adjust to life in a new town. Got this job and started on July 11, 2000. Life just keeps getting better. I have never regreted any part of it and I can honestly say "I love my job".
