The rare overlap between Thanksgiving and Hanukkah has been fascinating my bridge club. So far, here's what people are making (or saying they're making, some of them are not the best cooks).

* Stuffing Stuffed Brisket

* Latke Gratin

* Green Bean Casserole with Schmaltz and Gribenes

* Thanksgivukkah Dougnuts (stuffed with cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie filling)

I'll be out of the country over Thanksgivukkah, and will particulary miss the doughnuts. (I can make stuffing stuffed brisket anytime).

What are you making?

I'm thankful for being able to buy latkes and schmaltz from several different sources nearby. I'll handle the more traditional (though non-traditional at my table) food items.

Just hand over the latkes and no one will get hurt.
You can keep the rest of it. :-)

Tur-briska-fil?

Turkey stuffed with brisket stuffed with gefilte fish. It's not as good as it sounds.

Wolowitz family recipe.

I always go way overboard on Thanksgiving even though it's just my husband and me. I cook a 15lb turkey, mashed potatoes, broccoli/cheese/rice casserole, dinner rolls, Green River (green jello with sliced pears), stuffing, gravy, homemade pumpkin pie, and a veggie tray that is cut up like flowers/animals.

I love cooking and he always tells me what he'd pay for my food if we were at a restaurant. My Thanksgiving feast is always around $50 a plate. grin
