Is there a regulatory requirement that we have a Signature Account Card on file for all deposit accounts?

We are in the process of establishing an online new account opening process. We are stuck on whether or not we will require the new customer to print, sign and mail an Account Card. We have found that some financial institutions do require an Account Card and other financial institutions don’t require anything.

There is no requirement. Some have the agreement accepted electronically and, if a brand new customer, obtain a sample signature in another manner such as first check processed. It is a risk based decision.
