I have a question regarding less cash deposits for a busines. We do not allow a business to make less cash deposits. This is whether they are incorporated or a DBA. Our tellers have asked a question that if a business comes with cash and checks for the deposit is it ok to give cash back. They say they do not if it just checks but if it is checks and cash they will. I say no and if they want cash back to write a check or hold out some of the cash.

Thanks for your input.

Read your corporate resolutions. Most authorize the making of deposits and the writing of checks. If your resolutions don't address less cash deposits, how are you going to defend allowing the person standing in front of you to do it, even if they are an authorized signer on the account (as they may just be a messenger)???
