I have a customer who lost his card on 12/9 and didn't report it to his bank until 12/20. Two unauthorized transactions posted to his account on 12/12 and 12/13. Coincidentally, one of the transactions was done at his place of employment. Both of the transactions were processed through the Visa network. What are the rules governing Visa in regard to the timely notice of a lost card? I feel if the customer would have notified his bank of the lost card, we could have avoided the two unauthorized charges.
