Sure enough, each time the ol' annual HMDA Scrub rolls around each year, I will convince myself to do anything to delay the pain a minute longer.

Clean my desk
Look through old files I've had for years
Visit people I don't normally talk to
Update the CYA file
Reorganize the shelves
Ponder the need for new artwork in my office
Replace the paper roll on my calculator
Create a matrix to assist in updating the work wardrobe
Post all of the aforementioned on the BOL Watercooler

Agree. I just conceded today.

pretty much the same...only I'm nearly finished with my piece of the scrub. I still manage to procrastinate and do things like...early disclosure backlogs, closing instructions, etc.

Curl up in a ball under my desk and cry.

The good news is that I did an audit and was unhappy with the results. I decided at that time to clean up the LAR. So I have already scrubbed the first half of the year.

Was almost done pivoting the LAR yesterday. Still at exactly the same point today as I was yesterday.

I keep telling myself it's only 2138 lines this year. I've done twice as much!

yea...somehow that last bit doesn't make this year's 2k seem any more manageable at all.

Determined to have it done by Friday so the LAR can lanquish on dept head's desk for a couple weeks while she tries to find time to poke at it.

How on Earth do you do 2138 items in 1 week. I had to do a project management scrub to do that, and was given a team of 7 and 3 consultants. I did have 3 years of that to do, but still, how can you ensure that every field is correct?

Makes me feel a heck of a lot better about the ~750 that I'm sifting through and correcting! Ick.

New to HMDA this year (we start reporting in 2015). This thread makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Whenever I would mention HMDA at home, my hubby would say 'what do you do, sit and hum all day?'. Many evil looks went his way!

We have 443 lines this year. I have scrubbed the first 3/4 of the year and need to do the last quarter. Then I will as our Asst Compliance Officer to test some lines. I never have the 'warm fuzzies' and am always nervous to submit.

I am always nervous when I hit 'submit'. I have been doing this for over 15 years, but I still cringe!

I have truly had a persistent nauseated feeling since I found out we were in an MSA!

The only good thing about my day after reading this is that I'm NOT a HMDA bank......yet.

I think that last year was the first year we were even close to submitting an accurate file. We've never had any issues with our data being bad though, so trying to get people to understand the importance of filing accurate data and including all the relevant loans tends to fall on deaf ears.

If anyone really looked things over, we'd be back-filing for as far back as they wanted to make us! So I also live in constant fear.

I used to cringe until the first time I had to resubmit after the deadline. Now that deadline doesn't seem so scary when you know what it feels like to send your data again after it.

I was hopeful too Sci after the last Census since we were still under 100,000 in population - but then they started throwing other random stuff into the calculation like if you are a major commuting center, yada, yada yada. Poof - we were in an MSA. Such a bummer!

We had to 100% review and refile 2 years of HMDA. NEVER AGAIN. We have around 500 loans per month from our mortgage division alone, not to mention the retail bank loans that we keep inhouse.

Actually, since we do a scrub every month, January is no different than any other month in the year. The only additional step is the actual filing of the HMDA report.
