We have recently started getting a 'red flag' alert on our credit bureau reports for the phone number being a cell phone. Has anyone else seen this alert?
How do you clear the alert? We've been asking if the phone number is correct.

It would all depend on how you deal with such an alert within your red flag policies. Do you consider it a red flag? This is really an alert that has been made up by your CRA.

One of the illustrative examples of Red Flags that were included in the Appendices to the Red Flag rules was whether the phone number provided by the customer was invalid or associated with a pager or answering service, but nothing about a cell phone.

This would put a red flag on many many people, making it a worthless flag. It would not point out anything unusual.
