We have received notification from our core processor that Mastercard anounced a Cross Border Assessment increase from .80% to .90%. They gave us two sets of sample language. One for Visa and Plus logo'd cards and one for Mastercard, Cirrus and Maestro logo'd cards.

We have Visa cards with a Cirrus logo on the back. Do we have to use both sets of sample language to notify our customers of the change or just the Visa??

Or...does anyone even know what I am talking about???

Your processor would be in the best position to tell you what to disclose as they generated the disclosures for you. Contact your client representative and ask.

Is this change in fees one that would have to be disclosed to current customers 21 days prior to the effective date? We were also notified by MC but were under the impression that this increase happened some time ago and that we are passed the 21 day notification requirement.

Yes. Our core provider said they are making the fee changes effective June 9, 2014. I have since discovered that we must include both sets of wording since we have Visa debit cards with a Cirrus logo on the back. We are running the changes on our statements as a statement message so we should hit everyone at least 21 days prior.
