I am looking for a guide on how to maintain account information when we report to the credit bureaus. i.e., are we required to change the report once a charged off loan property is sold but there is still a balance owed? Thank you.

The Consumer Data Industry Association publishes a resource guide for credit reporting. You can find information about ordering on their website. If you attend some of their credit reporting webinars, you can usually have access the the guide for downloading.

I do not recall offhand if your scenario is specifically addressed but guide does contain specific guidance on reporting.
