We are a bank with all of our branches in Idaho. We have a borrower who would like to refinance a home in Arizona. We do not have a banking permit or license in Arizona, so I'm thinking we can't do the loan. Of course I have lenders who are telling me that other community banks in Idaho do loans in Arizona.

Can we do loans in AZ?

You would have to check AZ law for loans by out of state banks. The rules vary from state to state.

The best thing would be to get on the phone with the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions and just ask them if there are any special requirements placed on out of State banks and MLOs that are registered on the NMLS
