I have been experiencing dizziness for the last week. It happens with a change in my head position (even moving it to look at different things but really bad from standing to laying and vice-versa. Has anyone had this - know what could be causing this - getting tired of it!

Vertigo makes the room spin like you're drunk and it doesn't stop. Dizziness could be any number of things. Ed right see your Dr

Here is my expert medical opinion based on years of experience as a banker.
1. You're drunk.
2. A large beetle crawled in your ear and built a nest.
3. You suffered concussions so bad playing in the NFL that you can't remember playing in the NFL.
4. You have low blood pressure.

See your doctor.

Or sinus or inner ear issues.

ETA - and yes, see a doctor.

I have called my doctor and have an appointment next week, but this has been going on for a week now and driving me crazy. Wish I could say I was drunk - then I would know what was causing it! smile Thanks everyone.

Definitely a good idea to see the sawbones. Most causes are benign and temprary (sinus and inner ear infections for instance). But anything that makes you dizzy, other than spinning in a circle with your forehead on a bat with a beer in your hand, should be checked out. wink

Is it worse if you stand up suddenly? If yes I'll place my bet on a sinus infection.

Hope you get some answers and some relief soon!

I have problems too, but unfortunately undiagosed. HOWEVER, although I'm not a Doctor AND I've not even stayed in a Holiday Inn Express Lately...your's sound like what happens when those crystals in your ear get displaced. If that turns out to be what it is...it's a very easy fix and they can teach you how to correct it in the future if it happens again.

::Fingers crossed::

I agree with the Dr. suggestions. I was light headed over the weekend after dealing with a sinus infection from the cursed cottonwood trees blooming. I was taking Mucinex for congestion and cough and the Dr. told me yesterday I was dehydrated from the meds. The dehydration was causing my light-headedness. So my advice is to drink lots of water while you wait for your appointment.
Hope you feel better soon!

Dizziness could cause you to fall or have an accident driving, etc. This is one of those times I'd call the dr's office and say (politely) this cannot wait till next week. I need to see the dr today.

Dr's do not put appointments in for the entire day. They leave spots for people who must be seen. Let the office know you're one of those people. Otherwise, make use of your Urgent Care Center if one is available under your insurance.

This^^^^

Before you let the doctor give you an Rx, go to a chiropractor and see if he can fix you the drug free way. Very simple and effective. Or even better try Joker's method.

OK - I must be backward - I've never heard of crystals in your ears. What are they?

It's the tradeoff for all that wisdom.

Very interesting. Makes you wonder how they figured that out... and how they figured out a way to reposition the salt crystals. Crazy!

I would second the chiropractor. I've gone in several times when I've been having dizzy spells and was instantly better after an adjustment.
