I have searched BOL and the MI Statutes high and low, and cannot locate anything stating - specifically - that a Safe Deposit box cannot have a beneficiary. Is there anything? CAN a SDB have a beneficiary? I have always believed not, as it's not an "account."

We do not allow beneficiaries on SDB. I don't think there is any law that states you cannot.
We just don't allow it and have never had any issues with that decision.

Thank you. I believe the ultimate answer is that contents of a SDB are not transferrable assets by the FI, so no beneficiary would be allowed. They would be dealt with by whoever is handling an estate.
