I have an unsecured loan to make improvements to a barn located on the same 2 acre parcel as the dwelling - on a working farm. Are the improvements to the barn considered improvements to the real property for HMDA?

Do you normally code and report unsecured HI loans? If so, then it should be reportable as such.

We are in a farming community and have this same scenario. We look to the purpose of the barn if it is a working farm and farm land adjoins. If the barn is for ag use - tractors, farm animals, etc then it is not HMDA. If the barn is for the farmers "toys", personal workshop, etc - then it is HMDA.
