I must have missed something, but I'm being told that HELOCs are now covered by RESPA. When did that happen?? I am having a panic attack. Thanks for any help you can offer.

HELOCs aren't exempt from RESPA (I don't think they ever were). If you look up the definition of a federally related mortgage loan in 1024.2, a HELOC is clearly included. However, certain sections of RESPA are exempted for HELOCs.
