I have some OCD issues...like setting the house alarm and then frantically checking the back door and door to the garage before I go out the front door. Oh...and driving around the block to double check that I REALLY closed the garage door when backing out...sometimes I do it twice....

Sci - when my son was younger and we would be standing in the check-out line at the grocery he would make sure all of the candy bars were in the right spot. If not, he would correct them.

I do this too, every once in a while. I start asking myself whether I actually saw the door go down. More often, I just slowly drive away watching the door in my mirror to make sure it closes. I will also doublecheck windows in the house to make sure I closed them.

Sometimes when I pee it squirts out in two directions.

That may be more of a medical condition than a quirk......

After reading this thread I feel much better about myself. In comparison you all, I think I can safely say I'm relatively quirk free.

In my music collection (albums and CDs, not digital) I of course organize alphabetically by artist. When a band name begins with a number, I consider the spelled out number (311 filed under T) rather than putting them before the As. Then, within each artist I sort them by release date rather than alphabetically.

I'll bet TJ has lots of quirks about his workouts - and workout shoes.

We left for vacation and there was something that caused the garage door to go back up and until I talked to a neighbor I didn't know the garage door was up for a few days while we were away. Eh, nobody stole anything so no harm, no foul.

OK, reading this I had to laugh because I share many of these same quirks:

Hate colored, or small or ridged paper clips - only use the large ones

I eat my M&M's two at a time, one on each side of my mouth and I color code them - if the colors do not work together they do not get eaten

I add up the digits of the license plates I see in front of me while driving and make up different combinations of those numbers

I type words in my mind - granted this is how I learned to type years ago but I still do it

Food has to be in certain locations on my plate and in proper order - the meat always has to be on the right side.

Does it mean anything that I have a sign in my office that says: Asylum for the Insane

Good Lord...even if I had a garage door, I'd never give it a second thought. I don't really care whether I did or did not lock any of the doors!

Life is apparetly so much simpler in the swamp. smile

I bet ya'll lock your car/truck/giant SUV doors too, huh! shocked

ETA: On second thought...did ya'll develope this habit beFORE or AFTER the garage shooting incident thread? confused

OK
I live in the same town now as i did as a kid (not continuously, lots of moving around in between) and i never locked my pickup as a kid....but we lived off the beaten path. I live right in "town" now (okay....it's still very podunk and most of you--not counting Joker--would still think you were out in the country) so i do lock it nowadays.
