You never know!!! Sounds like MBH was trained by someone surviving the depression. Those folks saved everything!

My grandmother used to say "Use it up or wear it out, make it do or do without." Drove me nuts as a kid. Now I get it.

when putting on deodorant, i count the number of swipes, and the right side needs to be 1 more than the left...I HAVE NO IDEA WHY My OCD requires both sides to have even amounts. If one side gets more swipes I have to apply a similar number of swipes to the other side. And now that you mention it, I have noticed that the right side typically gets more swipes because I don't feel it's "fully protected" [you'd think 25-30 swipes would be sufficient] Oh boy. I've got something in that area too. I get distracted while applying it, so, sometimes when I'm about to leave for the day, or, while I'm halfway done putting on a shirt, or while I'm still holding the stick, I can't remember if I did one side or both sides or neither side. Wifey then happily gives me a sniff test and informs me if I'm going commando, or have already applied it, or have applied it twice. And I can ONLY put it on if it is right after the shower. I dare not put it on why I am completely dry and no longer moist. I often get distracted and cannot remember if I used shampoo, and frequently wash my hair twice as result. As soon as I lather up, I can tell and/or I remember that I already did that. I prefer to think that this happens because I am a genius and have no time to think about such mundane things as grooming, or generally, what I am doing. That's MUCH better than the alternatives.

I stress in the line at McDonalds dual drive through. Which line should I get in? Then what if the one I pick is the slow one? What happens if the vehicle beside me go through faster? It is so stressful? One can only truly enjoy your dinner if you got through the line faster than the person that started beside you in the other line.

My poor dad has never figured out the drive thru rules of survival. The first of which is to keep your order as simple as possible... "A number 1 and water" Dad will go to the drive thru and order like this..."I want a cheeseburger with no cheese with the meat pretty done and some pickles and onions but no lettuce and some tomatoes but with the tomotes on top and the pickles on bottom and some mustard with some fries and some slices of raw onion one the side but not in with the fries......and a coke 10." And then will wonder why he didnt get what he wanted.

Okie, get an H1 Hummer. Then any lane you want is yours. At first glance I thought you were saying "Okie, get a humor".

I don't know if this is Peeve or Quirk, but:
I believe the last little bit of some products, like deodorant and soap, are not as strong or effective as when you first opened them. The last 1/2 inch of deodorant never seems to work right, and I replace it before it's all used up. Once soap is so used up that the bar breaks into two pieces, I feel like what is left isn't doing the job anymore, and I throw them out.

And it's not an excessive overreaction to something someone else is doing, it's just you being you. Thus, I think that's a quirk. Maybe a poll is needed though?

I dunno? The back half of a bullet seems to work just well as the front half..... Hah, The worst: The last dregs of a bottle of water The last bowl of cereal, with all that dust The last cold, burnt partial piece French fry The last paper towel, with glue on it The last square of TP Surely I'm not the only one who thinks the last bit is the worst. Best bite of cereal? Fresh out of the box, first spoonful. All other bites pale in comparison.

I only drink fountain soda or iced tea if it's Styrofoam cups. The ice lasts longer and my hands don't get wet from condensation when I pick up the glass. Tervis cups. Love the Tervis tumblers! Double-wall insulation means no condensation.

When the shampoo or dish soap is empty, I put water in it to get the last bit out. I'll turn jars upside down in the fridge to get the last bit of salsa or mustard out. We eat the whole loaf including the ends. And I'll pick through the dust at the bottom of the cereal box to get any remaining full size pieces. Yes, my parents lived through the Depression. My wife, who grew up in public housing, is just like me.

Your not that bad Brain. There was a lady on the news the other night that was N_V_T_S NUTS!!! 1. She saves the water she boils pasta in to use over and over and over 2. She scrapes the spaghetti sauce off of the plates and puts it back in the jar after the meal! 3. She times everyone in the ouse when they shower (no baths allowed). They get 10 seconds to get wet and its off, the soap up and they get 20 seconds to get the soap off and thats it! 4. The house has two (2) light bulbs that they move from room to room. When she goes to the grocery store, she picks the grapes off of the vine so she doesnt have to pay for the wight of the vine. There is way more but she is a loon! No they are not a financially strapped household. She and her poor husband both have good jobs with an annual household income in the $185,000 range.

I haven't felt so "normal" in ages. I love reading this thread. The only "quirk" identified here that I catch myself doing is lowering the lid of the copy machine if it's up when I walk past. But that's because I think it looks messy in the bank lobby. Not because I *have* to close it.

I just can't part with all the toys from fast food kids meals from the 80's and early 90's. Most have duplicates that are still mint in the box or bag. They take up large containers in the attic above the garage.
