Now, I wish I was going to the Natl Compliance Conf in Chicago. I could have pizza with the BOLers. Oh well, next year will have to do-Baltimore MD.

Congrats Mary!

Now is the time for all CRCMs to add that designation into your name or profile. Show it off.

I am curious to know...
you guys who have taken the CRCM exam..
how long were you in compliance before you took it?
I've been in compliance little over 3 years and I am eager to take it. (I understand there is a requirement to be in compliance for at least 3 years)I guess it just depends.. if you feel ready.. then take it.
I feel ready.. it is just the fear of not passing!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I originally got my Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer designation in 1997 and then went for the CRCM designation in October 2001. The CRCM exam was quite an eye opener!

We'll see you next year!

Thanks to all of you for the Congrats!! I had a few non-virtual drinks this past weekend to celebrate. No one here at the bank has a clue as to how much work it was to pass the test, so I had to brag a little here. I do encourage compliance officers to study and take this test. It covers alot of areas that are not part of your normal course of business, so STUDY, STUDY, STUDY. Does anyone have statistics on how many CRCM's there are in the nation? I'm putting info together on how valuable it is for the bank to have a CRCM on staff. Hopefully, a big raise will result.

I think as long as you feel okay about taking it, then take it... I had 2 years audit, 1 compliance, 5 more in banking. I thought I was plenty ready.

Way, way south.
Congrats. How long did you study for the exam? And just curious, how long is the actual exam? Thanks, Mark.

Mark,
I took the ABA 8 week online course, beginning in February. I did additional studying for two weeks prior to the exam. I took the exam on the nationwide test date of 4-16-04. It took one day short of 6 weeks to receive my test results. So, I have been very crabby for four months. I was not looking forward to starting this process over again if I didn't pass. Exam retakes are only on nationwide testing dates. The next exam date being 10-15-04.
