Calamari to me is the most overrated seafood there is. It tastes like....nothing. It's not awful or anything, but i don't go to a seafood place to eat calamari, when there's shrimp, oysters, clams, etc. to chow on.

^^ Agreed. It's just because it's fried and dipped in ranch that it's good. You can swap out calamari for any other thing and it's still great!

Brain sandwiches are very popular in St Louis. Battered and Fried cow brains. I have never been able to get myself to try it.

Don't think i could either. I have no intention to ever eat any animal's brain.

My mom always made it along with pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving...without fail. None [of the mincemeat] was wasted on me!

It's basically (i think) apple and raisin pie with a bit of suet in it. I loved the mincemeat pie my grandma used to make.

That's just it...it can contain any number of things. Just a little scary to me. I'm okay with the apples, raisins and spice part.

How do you ever plan to absorb their wisdom then??

I love sweet breads. It's just, they're so expensive. I've tried chicken feet twice and didn't care for the flavor/textures.

sliced and fried poataoes (fried to golden crispyness) are great

au gratin with that snot texture sauce is disgusting

cheesy au gratin sound great in theory but then the smell of that sauce hits me and I get queasy

For me it's Cilantro. If I wanted that flavor I would just eat grass clippings that have been sitting in the yard waste barrel for a couple of weeks.

LOL....i used to think the same thing....however, cilantro grows on you. I now like it.

Some restaurants just need to remember that a little bit of cilantro goes a long ways!

I think i had seaweed the last time i was in New England and ordered the seafood platter...it was green, stringy, and had the most off-putting taste ever.
