What are creamed eggs?

huh? isn't that just water with the hot dog grease they were heated in?

Have you ever scene the movie Ernest Goes to Camp? The dish those crazy cooks make somewhat resembles creamed eggs. It's like a rue of flour, pepper, water, milk, sliced boiled eggs, and raw eggs which is then either cooked in a pot or in the microwave. It's making my stomach queasy even typing it.

No, this is when you slice hotdogs into chunks, cook them in a pan without water so you get burnt/browned pieces on the bottom, then you deglaze the pan with cornstarch and water to make a gravy out of said burnt pieces.

Carolina barbecue is way better than that nasty stuff they serve in KC. Blech.

I've never had Carolina BBQ, but i like vinegary stuff, so it sounds like i'd like it. I agree that KC BBQ is way too sweet, generally.

Black beans.

I love pinto beans and butter beans and baked beans...but black beans are just nasty...they have a weird wang to them.

I've found that not all black beans are created equally...some are good and some have the 'wang' raitch mentions.

Hotdog gravy sound horrendous.

So do creamed eggs.

Shrimp and grits? I'm like Pippi...I'd rather have the shrimp with my homemade cocktail sauce...cheese grits on the side would be just dandy.

I have pictures of both my kids at about 9 - 10 months eating black beans - filthy from forehead to chin.

I'll admit the hotdog gravy sounds pretty nasty.

We used to make our own sandwich spread out of bologna, sweet pickles and mayo. I used to love that stuff. Until the time I put my finger in the electric meat grinder and cut off the tip of my left pointer finger. After that, not-so-much. It never healed properly and I can see the layers of muscle.

my mother makes a mean creamed eggs on toast ... it's one of those comfort foods for me. Don't get me wrong though, I completely understand why people don't like it.

I think I'm not hungry for lunch anymore.

I also forgot apricot jelly sandwiches with a slice of American cheese in between. By the time lunchtime came around, the bread was soggy in my lunchbox.

I wonder if all of this is where I get all my picky food habits from.

My gma made that, but using ham, relish and mayo. My mother once flicked the garbage disposal on while I was trying to get a piece of glass out of it.

Growing up, my mom's family was so poor they would take lard sandwiches to school.

Coconut ranks up there as one of the worst for me. It is like biting off a chunk of Styrofoam and chewing on it.

Broccoli. Just the smell of cooked broccoli will make me .

I can't stand mushy veggies. Well, except for mashed potatoes and mashed cauliflower. Otherwise, raw or blanched. Or juiced.

I'm just the opposite....unless it's a traditional salad ingredient (lettuce, tomato, onion, bell pepper, avocado), i don't care for raw vegetables, but love most cooked ones. Carrots are a good example.....no way i'd munch on a raw carrot stick, but cooked in a pot roast or in soup...love them.

I checked out a recipe for creamed eggs on toast. It actually doesn't look too bad, but only as an occational meal. Topped with bacon.

exactly, why does someone have to be 'that' person that brings the veggie tray to the party? there isn't enough ranch dressing in the world for me to dunk a raw veggie in it and eat it
