We are starting to see customers who dispute something through E-OSCAR and then also dispute the same issue via a boilerplate letter mailed to the bank. For instance, E-OSCAR disputes filed 6-25-14 through Equifax and 6-26-14 through TransUnion, followed by a notice letter (received via postal mail) 7-31-14. Are we required by FCRA/FACT Act to investigate and reply to all of these or can we consider them repeat/frivolous disputes that have already been responded to? Thanks.

We are seeing the same issue with multiple disputes occurring month after month. We respond each month but at what point can we consider these to be frivolous and stop responding??

Complygirl, 1022.43(f) talks about fivolous or irrelevant disputes. Sounds like you might be able to apply your situation to that section.
