Do you not need Member FDIC on a business card because it isn't an advertisement just an information piece?

I have never seen a business card with the Member FDIC on it. I am sure there are a few out there but it is not required.

What if the business card is not a standard business card, as would usually come to mind, with the company name and employee contact information, but lists several products, including deposit and home mortgage products?

Start by reviewing the regulation. Paragraph 328.3 of the FDIC's regulation on advertisement of membership can be found HERE

The reason that it's not likely you'll find "Member FDIC" on business cards is that most business cards don't include advertising that would trip the requirement. But if your business cards advertise insured deposits or include a phrase like "for all your banking needs" (see the regulation, section 328.3(c)), it's an ad, and you ought to include "Member FDIC" on the size of the card that includes the bank's name.

I should have added that, if the mention of home mortgages rises to the level of an advertisement, you should include the EHL or EOL logotype, as well.

OK
What about covers the size of a debit card with a pocket on the back for the card and it holds a small register to record your purchases. Would this be considered in the "etc." portion of the exclusions or would they consider it as promoting our debit card product? The cover has the name of the bank and the bank's address on the front.

Well, I go by the "If there's room for it, why not include it" opinion, but I wasn't consulted before ordering.
