Kevin Bond, whose 2-month-old son, Hudson Azera Bond, is in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit at Duke Children's Hospital in Durham, N.C., used a photo of the baby with tubes taped to his mouth and nose while wrapped in an elephant blanket and surrounded by stuffed toys. Facebook rejected his $20 advertising purchase, citing the pic.

I'm really getting to not like Facebook, and it has nothing to do with this particular incident. While it was nice to use to be able to reconnect with a number of people from college that I hadn't connected with in many years, that has now worn thin with all of the privacy issues, and targeted advertising and useless [censored] that makes up the majority of my news feed. I really don't think I'd miss it much and am giving serious consideration to just giving it up.

I don't like it when people use Facebook to start drama, or air their issues. They are just doing it to let it continue on and on. I do enjoy seeing what other people are up to in their neck of the woods. And it is nice to be able to comment on the good things. It is like everything else in life-it has its good and bad. smile

Way, way south.
FB is, unfortunately, run by a group who feel the need to interject their politics into whatever the members wants to place on their pages and they have no problem shutting down pages they are not political fans of.

The good thing about FB though, is that if enough member kvetch about what they're doing, they usually relent and either allow or delete the subject page.

Facebook isn't "cool" anymore. Too many old people are joining so the younger generation have moved on to the next new thing.

I was too old to join Facebook to begin with. Our eldest son set me up with an account when he was still in college back 10-12 years ago, promoting it to me that I could keep up with him and his life. I promptly forgot my password a week later and never went back. He's long since given Facebook up.

Facebook lost its cool when my grandma was signed up for it. I try not to check it more than once a month but people use it for texting now and that just drives me up the wall.

Happy would never had met so many wonderful ladies from the far east and Russia, if not for Bookface.

LOL! That was a real trend for a while. Getting strange "friend requests" from girls in far away places that apparently never wore anything but bikinis. I am sure that most guys (and a few girls) thought that they must just naturally attract such friends! laugh

What I find to be the most ridiculous thing about FB is people with 2,000 friends, really are you kidding they are all your friends! Oh and people who have to post pictures of their every move. Some days I'm fearful that there might be a bathroom shot in there.

OK
As someone who lives alone, it's a way to keep up with what is going on in the community and with my friends from out of town. Ya, I am an old geezer too! My feed is usually music, sports and grandchild. I skip over the ads and games and half of what is in my feed I don't even look at.

You don't have 2000 friends??? I love it when people who didn't even talk to you in school, or who snub you in public want to be your friend---Nope, denied!
