and I was happy at $3.71 the other day.

The other day I found some old credit card statements from 2001-2002 that showed I was paying about $27 to fill up my car. Now I'm lucky to get in under $50.

One of the many benefits of living and working in a city with impeccable public transit, no need to worry about the gas prices.

If you're not already aware gasbuddy.com (and app) is a great resource for finding cheap gas prices and it's user driven.

I saw a station this morning that was at $3.61.

If you want to lower the cost of a fill-up, just go every day. laugh

Yesterday gas prices in NKY were $3.19 but when I drove past the gas station this morning it had gone up to $3.45. What changed overnight to cause prices to go up!?!

$2.97 here, been under $3 for the last week and a half or so. Must've switched to the winter blend. Usually we just notice the difference in the Spring when it goes up, but I suppose it's possible they might actually drop prices in the Fall, despite never noticing that before.

winter blend...that's funny. you always hear that they have to close refinereies in the spring for 2-3 weeks to prep for "summerizing" the gas, but you never hear of closing the refineries in the fall to remove all that summerization stuff...

(psst...just a ploy to raise gas prices...)

and if anyone is familiar with how refineries work, turnarounds are done in 2-3 days at worst case, not 2-3 weeks.
