I recently filed a SAR for elder financial exploitation. A few weeks later, I noticed an amount was incorrect and amended the original SAR. I read a thread on here about specific wording within the SAR and saw that the victim shouldn't be listed as a subject, but rather in the narrative itself. (I listed the victim as a subject and need to fix it.)

The question is...which SAR do I amend - the original or the amended? I wasn't sure which BSA ID# to refer to.

This looks like a question to be answered by FinCEN.

You amend that latest version - you don't go back to version one.

Agreed. The DCN assigned to an amendment has a special numbering preface. That will allow them to understand you are amending a previously amended filing.
