Went from west central Texas to northern Arkansas on a quick trip to squeeze the new granddaughter, just born on Friday, and saw lots of $2.98/$2.99 gas along the way. Cheapest seen was $2.89.

Prices finally fell to $3.40 here, yippee. The Sheetz monopoly has a stranglehold on us.

$3.29 here, generally.
GoBucs, I think the main problem in PA is the state govt. Between PA and Jersey, I'm not sure which state govt is more corrupt.

The Gov and the corrupt turnpike commission are a big problem, but if you go several counties over, the gas prices can be $.30 to $.40 cents lower. Sheetz is controlling the prices in my area.

We were happy to pay $3.61. I did see Arco (cash only) at $3.45 over the weekend.

I just read an article in the AP where the guy was trying to convince Americans this new lower gas prices are bad because it could damage other economies in the world that have become dependent on profits from our high oil prices for the last 8 years or so. From the few comments I read most "Americas" did not buy what he was selling.

I heard something similar on NPR a bit ago Wolfy.
They said that the US has such better technology with fracking to obtain oil, that the middle east is flooding the market because they think it will push the US (et al) producers out of the market since the prices will fall. The only problem with that is that since we have better tech, we can produce it pretty cheaply.
Let's hope the price war continues.

Cue, "Those were the days....." When I was driving back and forth across the state to college, I remember there were a few stations that sold gas for $0.98 per gallon. It would be nice to see those prices make a comeback!

I'm still waiting for it to fall under $3 around here. It's been hovering between $3.05 and $3.25 for a couple weeks....but just hasn't made that final drop.
