You can't find decent peanut butter made anywhere but the US in my experience. If you ever have a child studying abroad, it's one thing they love to get from home. UK peanut butter is just gross slime.

Just had great peanut butter in Austria less than a month ago.
Was the store brand, "Billa" and was hawked as "American style peanut butter." An inspection of the tiny, and expensive, jar found that it had been imported from the USA.
You are right, UK peanut butter is pretty dismal. Don't recall ever noticing any of it imported from the USA.
Both my wife and I love peanut butter (it's right up there with bacon). We have found that the Kroger store brand is our very favorite peanut butter. Most other brands taste too sweet in our view (a problem with UK peanut butter). I'd like to know who puts it up for Kroger. We keep it on hand in the largest size "vats," one creamy and one crunchy. There's no Kroger near our small town so we have to plan for a "peanut butter run."

Peanut butter and bacon? You betcha! Been there ... done that!
My grandmother taught me to eat peanut butter and yellow mustard sandwiches when I was a kid. Good stuff and I always think of her when I make one.
Get yer protein fix! Once ate a peanut butter and sardine sandwich on a dare when I was in high school. I love sardines and I love peanut butter. Wasn't much of a step to munch that sandwich. I still make that one sometimes.

Adams natural PB is my favorite. Only ingredients are peanuts and salt.

I do Jif, but only if I haven't got the peanuts to make homemade. My son loves homemade peanut butter...I'm weird I know.

Hey, Peter Pan still has more listed nutritional value that stuff like Cool Whip, margarine, and artificial sweeteners. You know, stuff that America loves to consume. At least peanuts are found in the ingredients. And, Peter Pan tastes much better too.
My wife took her best homemade banana pudding to her office yesterday for a coworker's birthday "do" and a couple of other coworkers had the gall to say they preferred their banana pudding to be made with cool whip rather than the real whipped cream my wife used. The discussion went on into butter or margarine and they also loved the cheapo tubbed Country Crock (it's a crock alright) over real butter, Miracle Whip over mayonnaise, etc. Gag-a-maggot!

I like the idea of natural peanut butter, but it always separates so you have this viscous waterylike substance floating on top and cement below it. The trick is to turn the jar upside down every couple of days.

I will not consume that fake cool whip stuff. I can barely stand the stuff in the aerosol can Bring on homemade

I like the Skippy Natural. No hydrogenated oils and yet still stays creamy and no sea of oil floating on top.

A lot of natural PB's, once stirred, no longer separate, particularly if kept in the fridge. And, as bOaty mentions, alot of them no longer separate, but I haven't studied what they've done to cause that, as it probably will kill you. I often buy Publix's deli natural PB and keep it in the fridge. Do people really still consumer MARGARINE? That stuff is HORRID! Having said that, I've been buying grass fed Irish butter - yum!

I buy that shedd's spread stuff, mainly because i can actually spread it on a piece of bread. Butter does taste better though.
