hi, i see on OFAC website has contacts methods including:

1)email
2)1800 number.
3)local hotline

kindly share in your experience which method gets you earliest/fastest response?

which method do you prefer/recommend using to get fastest response?

We often get lot of hits questions,so saving time is efficient. I'll be contact person for our institute,so i just want to be best prepared. thanks

We had one OFAC possible hit concern and used the 800 number.
Otherwise, we have lots of false positives, so contacting them doesn't apply almost all the time.

I have called the 1800 number and had to leave a message, but they always call back.

thanks. ok, so 1800 number has some lag in response. How about 202 number is someone human being available to answer? no email using for contact? i thought that would be more reliable if something goes wrong we have something on record. But again response time is main thing.

Your best bet is to call. I have always gotten a fairly quick response. However, I sent an e-mail once and NEVER got a reply.

I had to call the 800 number recently and left a voicemail. I received a call back in less than 30 minutes.

This was a HUGE improvement from several years ago when I kept calling and leaving voicemails and didn't get a call back for about 3 days. eek
