Turkey simmered in homemade BBQ sauce and thrown on a sandwich doesn't sound bad to me.

Turkey stuffed pepperz. Turkey parmesean Turkey n pasta in marinara Turkey burgers (always a hit)
Most all of these just rely on spicing the turkey well and the use of onions, bell peppers and mushrooms smpbined with some sort of startchy carb. We eat his stuff all the time and love it!

Let me clarify my ask, I'm looking for pointers/recipes on cooking a whole turkey
Now, those of you who were honestly giving turkey recipes not knowing where I was going with this, then hopefully this clarification helps.
Those of you who assumed from the beginning I was asking based on cooking a whole turkey yet posted what you did, then I feel sorry for you as this is a very serious thread.
For Boaty, you're just evil.

Take it to a BBQ joint and get them to smoke it. The place around here will do it for like 10 bucks.

Well now wait a minute. I don't have that ham recipe, it's still as elusive as ever.

I didn't realize throwing a bird in an oven/deep fryer/smoker required a "recipe".

one of our local grocery chains does the deep fried turkeys...which are awesome.
my brother also does one every year, basically use a crawfish pot, heat up the peanut oil, lower in the turkey, cook 5-7 minutes per pound (of the turkey, not my brother)...
ham is disgusting and i would have no recipes, sorry

Turkey Fryer Recipe Allow your turkey to thaw completely! Unwrap the turkey from the packaging. Clean and dry your turkey on the inside and out. Remove the giblets and neck. Rub your turkey with seasonings. We also inject ours with whatever my dad's using. Place turkey upside down on poultry rack. At this point, I've got nothing else to add. I leave the turkey frying to the beer drinking men in the garage and go make the pies. (Here are some injection recipes for a deep fried turkey - http://www.divinedinnerparty.com/deep-fried-turkey-recipes.html)

Finally, we're getting somewhere.
Say one doesn't have a deep fryer and is too cheap to shell out the money for one (and/or simply doesn't think his family is worthy of him spending that money), how would one cook one in the oven?
and Boaty, you've been a big help
