I know I saw a previous thread a few months ago about ideas for bank functions, but was unable to locate it doing a search.

We usually have a bank "outing" for the employees and their guests every summer. Last year we went golfing and had a Hawaiian luau. One year we went canoeing, another year we simply went on a cruise down the Mississippi for an hour or two. I'm trying to come up with some creative ideas. Anybody have anything they did in their bank that was fun?

We have rented out a beach club once and we are thinking about a "Day at the Races".

We do a casino night. Of course- with fake money, but it is tons of fun. Prizes are given to employees that night also.

Our picnic last year and this year is a Monte Carlo theme. We get to gamble with fake money all afternoon and then "cash in" our chips for a credit slip. An auction is then held for various prizes and we use the "money" that we won to bid for things. There are also some nice prizes available for the unsuccessful bidders. There is just regular picnic food and beverages besides that. I am looking forward to it!

In past years we have also held our picnic at a local amusement park with the bank providing a meal and ride passes for employees and their guests.

One year the credit union I worked for had a day at the ball park. They paid for our tickets to one of minor league ball games, had food and amusement rides for the kids. We all had a blast and the kids enjoyed it too.

We have a "pig" nic. We bid on a pig at the county fair, take it to a butcher and have roast pork for the picnic. The rest of the meat, frozen in packages of bacon, chops and ground pork are then given away to the employees by spinning the "Wheel of Meat".

LOL Nanwa, that's so cute.. Not a lot of vegitarians at the company do are there?

Nah, this is farm country. Lots of beef, pork, dairy and overweight people!

We have a bank outing to the Chicago White Sox game this weekend. I was in charge of setting it all up. And yes, it pained me to order White Sox tickets (unfortunately, they are much easier to get then Cubs tickets!)

Thanks for all the ideas. I'm definitely going to keep some of them in mind for next year. I guess we've decided to go watch the local minor league baseball team. Free food and beer -- how much more could you ask for?

We;re also doing the local minor league baseball team (owned by Nolan Ryan) - at a very professional ballpark - there will be food and drinks for the all employees, family members, and guests - and the activity areas (pool, picnic area, rock climbing, etc) will be reserved for us - should be a blast!!!
