Does anyone know if the Protecting Tenants in Foreclosure Act was extended?

So far, there's been no news that it has been extended. That doesn't mean, though, that Congress won't do something retroactive to extend it.

Isn't it just common sense and the right thing to do anyway?

Who can just kick people, that happen to rent from a deadbeat, out into the street without proper notice and hope to maintain any sort of reputation in the community?

If banks had these sort of common sense policies to begin with we would not have these regulations.

Thanks for the responses. I was just preparing to have policies reapproved by BOD. I decided to just remove the sunset date from our internal policy & leave the rest of the policy alone.

Apparently a Congressional bill was in fact introduced in the House to extend the expiration of the Act, but was never acted upon and died without Senate approval or possibly even a vote. While there is no federal law dictating policies and procedures, individual State laws would need to be followed at a minimum.
