Borrower was provided a list of 10 closest counseling agencies (all located within a large city). Bank recently received counseling certification, indicating the borrower completed the counseling and that it was delivered through electronic media, and that the counseling was provided by "XYZ agency". Our concern is "XYZ agency" is located in another city more than 80 miles away. Not sure why the borrower did not use a local agency to complete the online counseling, as there are well over 10 such agencies in the area. Can this counseling be accepted? Is the fact that we have proof the counseling was completed all that we really need to be concerned with? Thanks.

As long as they are an approved CFPB credit counselor, why would you care??
