We have a customer who sold their XBOX Console and did not bother to remove thier account information that was tied to their debit card. The new owner of the XBOX was able to access the account, and has made several purchases with our customer's debit card through the console. Now our customer is disputing the purchases as unauthorized. Is this a Reg E dispute? Can we deny the claim?

Yes, this is a Reg E dispute. Cardholder claims unauthorized. I'm not sure why you would jump to denial when you most likely have chargeback rights.

They handed them the box (access device) whether they realized it or not.
