good for recognizing he has a problem...maybe they can teach him humility Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel entered a treatment facility Wednesday, per Cleveland.com.
Manziel's publicist Denise Michaels released a statement to the site. which said:
"Brad Beckworth, a friend and advisor to Manziel and his family, has confirmed that Johnny entered treatment on Wednesday. Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate, and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step.
"On behalf of Johnny and his family, we're asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland."
Browns general manager Ray Farmer released a statement as well, and said that Manziel's "privacy will be respected" during this imperative time.
Manziel's partying since joining the Browns has been well documented and followed on social media. Despite the parties and headlines, the Browns gave Manziel a shot at being their starting QB late in the season, but both starts were ineffective. He finished the season with 175 passing yards, two interceptions and one rushing touchdown.

So if you check yourself into rehab, does this count as strike-one in the NFL's substance abuse program?

“The medical professionals in charge of the program make those decisions and it is confidential,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told PFT’s Mike Florio on Monday when asked if Manziel was in the substance-abuse program. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...-abuse-program/In plan English this translates to "It depends on how much money Johnny football brings in"

Thought he was arrogant in college and still think so today. not meant to excuse his behavior, but if you were the best at what you did since childhood, and everyone told you this, and everyone covered for you, and everyone idolized you, and everyone covered for you when you made mistakes...probably about 99% of us would be arrogant as well, myself included. it takes a pretty well grounded person not be to...

Shame on the Browns.. another great decision. Hey, watch it! You wouldn't be celebrating your 4th Super Bowl if Modell hadn't made the great decision to fire Belichick! Wait, I think I just made your point for you.... But, concerning Johnny Football, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has an article today that Johnny's dad promised to get him a nice car if he would stay sober in his Junior and Senior year - of HIGH SCHOOL. And he couldn't do it. He's had a problem for a while. Hopefully this will help him out.

The Browns should start drafting two quarterbacks each year in hopes that one works out.

Very well said -- I would like to think I could be part of the 1% group - but, unfortunately, the reality of it is exactly as you said.
