Happy, you just had your first piece of king cake this year. You're a month late. Randazzo's? Haydel's? they have had many at work, I've resisted...until today... Nona Randazzo's

So my oldest leaves here tomorrow to march in one of the parades on Sat. night with his high school marching band.
I don't remember seeing anything on the agenda about King Cake.

I looked at his agenda again, and I was wrong--he is sampling King Cake today.
Hope the weather is nice and dry for marching in Endymion Parade on Saturday night.

Bluebell has a King Cake ice cream this year! No word on whether there's a baby in there, or if you have to make the ice cream next year if you find it.

Saturday is forecasting 66 and sunny, no chance of rain Awesome--marching in rain with wool uniforms would not be any fun. They have been told to expect to march/dance/move for 7 hrs. That should wear them out that the bus ride back home maybe quiet--but these are high school kids--probably not

Based on the pictures I got from a friend, they are having WWAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much fun. Of course it's only 28 and cloudy here and in the pictures they are all wearing t-shirts and shorts. Might as well enjoy the weather if they can.

So after numerous bus issues, the oldest got back last night. Had a great time, but really tired---came home with great memories, lots of beads (wow some are really heavy) and wonderful pictures. We got to watch the parade on-line. Didn't see the kid (didn't expect to--all those band kids look the same once they put on the uniforms), but looked like they were having a lot of fun as they marched. Saw them enter the Superdome--coverage cut away from them just as they were going to do their signature dance, but I've seen it before.

Sounds like a fair trade-off! I glanced at the grocery store, but didn't see it...however I haven't been to the better grocery store and looked there...yet.

The container is dark purple, FYI. Might help you spot it or realize it's not there.
