Do you do valuations in-house for loan under $250k? If so, in which department does (s)he reside? We are $600MM and wondered how many other banks our size do this in-house.

We are about the same size. We don't have anyone in house qualified to do valuations nor do we have anyone avaialble to train so we require appraisals on all real estate secured loans.

We're $500MM, Okie, and do in-house evals. The employee is in LoanOps, but is not involved (independent) of the term-setting & approval process. We perform evals for new RE $250MM & less, and for renewals, modifications, or extensions.

1.2 billion. Our appraiser is an independent department and reports to the Director of Credit Administration.
