Here are some they rated too high:
7 - Amy Pohler. Get real. She should not even be in the top 50. I'd put her at about 25.
10 - Tina Fey. The next funny thing she does will be her first. Probably does not belong in the top 100. I'd put her about 26
12- Tim Meadows. He was ok. Better than Fey. But too high. He was in one of the funniest skits I ever saw with Cameron Diaz
19 - Kristin Wiig. Deserves to be on the list, but more likely in the 40s. Better than both Fey and Pohler. Agreed
20 - Hader. Probably should be left off of the list. Certainly not this high, he could be funny though
28 - Dratch. I am starting to think the author is unfamiliar with the concept of funny. Agreed
34 - Maya Rudolph. Although no less funny than Fey, she should not be in the top 50. Agreed

Rated too low.
36 - Spade. Yes David Spade was rated below all I listed. Way too low.
41 - Randy Quade. Top 15 Material. No
65 Chris Elliot. Probably one of the most under rated guys ever on SNL. Eew
66 - Dennis Miller. He made the Weekend Update what it is. Yes. Suffered from the same disadvantage Victoria Jackson did.
73 - Julia Sweeny. STOP. 63 spots behind Fey. She is better than Fey by far. One of the biggest injustices of this list
81 - Garrafolo. Not great but better than 81. No, she's not.
92 Victoria Jackson. Still better than Fey and Pohler. See previous post.
8 - Mike Meyers. Probably the second best SNL all time. Yes

I find it hard to believe that Chevy Chase was on for only one season.

I assume the one involving the ice cream cone? Or Jingleheimer Junction? If either, one of the best.

Edit: I also remembered Jingleheimer juction and laughed.
Further edit: The ice cream cone was the daughter from Married with Children. Goes to show Tim Meadows is an often overlooked great cast member.

He's kind of like Steve Martin where he hosted/cameo'd so much that it seems like he was part of the cast for longer.

I think it's crazy that Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller were on the show as cast members.

That may be the case.

That's suprising.

Way, way south.
I have *never* found Martin Short funny in any way, shape or form.

The SNL skits were usually always so rightthatminute topical that, with the hindsight of decades, they don't seem quite so funny anymore. Sure, they made certain phrases an enduring part of the lingua franca, and to the original audience demographic they were funny, but the world changes and people [hopefully] mature.

That's probably why more recent cast members tend to rank higher on these lists. Their performances are fresher in the memory, too.

But you have to give the original cast members their due. They set quite a standard; amazing that 40 years later the show goes on. Although I'll bet that the original cast would have neatly skewered that bloated anniversary special.

The original not-ready-for-prime-time players were irreplaceable.

OK
I was very disappointed they didn't show The Church Lady. That's what I always watched SNL to see. After Dana Carvey left I quit watching. The old stuff is the best!

This is a solid list based on the criteria that i mostly agree with it.

I'd go:

Eddie (one man show)
Ferrell (same)
Carvey
Myers
Aykroyd/Hartman/Hader -- I like the "glue" guys
Belushi
Gilda
Wiig/Fallon -- but they're not really my style of comedy but they were the alpha dogs when they were on. so i'll put them here.
Poehler -- maybe too high but i just watched the Parks & Rec finale and I'm still emotional about it
Farley
Sandler
Chase
Fey -- not the best performer, but good enough and i give her extra points for being the head writer for a lot of really funny sketches.

I left out Murray and Norm because i knew i couldn't be unbiased about them. I love them more than most of my cousins and they're a bigger influence than any teacher i've ever had.

And actually some the newer staff are funny, but just not the same way as the list many of us have placed.

Fallon, who is not on my list, a very good talent, but I just didn't always find him funny. Except he seemed to loose it more in skits than others. Much like Tim and Harvey on the carol burnett show.
