Hello,

So, I have a request list from examiners for a HMDA Validation. Is it best to include the entire file (bulk file with every piece of information collected during the underwriting process) or simply provide the needed items for a HMDA scrub (1003, adverse action, etc)?

I don't want to burden the examiners with having to search through a large file, but also don't want to be seen as hiding anything.

Thanks,
Bill

Ask them what they want, specifically.

We only sent them our source documentation and they were very appreciative.

Some banks will only send what is requested while others will send everything. I assume they sent you a standard request letter, I might touch base with the examiner and see what they are trying to accomplish and explain how your file system is set up for the most efficient way to gather the documents for you and them.

We asked them what documents they wanted and sent exactly that and nothing more.

Bill2307 here:

They want the whole file. Guess it depends on your examiner.
