Our bank has 3 branches. H & W go to branch 1 to meet w/investment advisor. Before leaving cashes a not drawn on us check for $84. Drives to Br 3 and each withdraws $6500 in cash as an IRA distribution (both over 59 1/2) to pay bills. Total in cash for the day is $13,084. I completed a Part I for husband conducted on own behalf 2a & multi trans 3 because he actually did two transaction. To continue on the husband to Part I 22 I listed only the IRA # and the $6500. I then did a Part I 2a for the wife and Part I 22 for her $6500 for her IRA #. On Part II 27 I complete d-negotiable instrument cashed for *84.00 and 27 z other and listed IRA Distribution for both husband and wife for $13,000. Am I doing this right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Husband's $84 check cashed and $6500 withdrawal are "by the same person" and should be aggregated to see if the $10,000 threshold is exceeded.

I don't see any reason to commingle the wife's withdrawal in the calculation...the monies came from her individual account. He could not have made the withdraw and you offer no indication that her withdrawal was in any way on his behalf.

The rest of the story, they paid bills is what they told the investment advisor the next day. IMHO, I would say the money was then commingled, right? Or because we didn't ask further questions, like what did you pay off, joint debt, we still can't commingle? Thanks, Lois
