Soaring over Georgia
We as a society have repeatedly diminished the importance of traditional family. We have repeatedly diminished the sanctity of life. We have repeatedly repealed any semblance of absolutes with regard to morality. Then we sit back and wonder why this happens?

Way, way south.
werd, Jim, WERD.

And, would Sharpton, J. Jackson, et al, have the money and power/support they have if they taught/preached that each person has to take individual responsibilty for themselves instead of preaching the woe-is-me racial card that perpetuates the welfare lifestyle? Methinks not.

agreed...

we have also advocated that no one can be wrong, feel slighted, can lose, have abdicated personal responsibility, and that everyone should get a trophy...

It's heartwarming to see folks out there who recognize why we are in the fix we're in as a nation. Now, if more would see it.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
well, yesterday President Obama made a speech where he said something to the tune of "we need to see each of these kids as our own and that will go a long way to solving the problem."

So, when I see a random kid acting up, it sounds like the president just said I can smack the kid upside the head and tell him quit acting like a fool.

When the police arrest me and the DA brings me to trial, I will then issue a subpoena to the president where he will come testify on my behalf that I was simply doing as he (the president) instructed - treating the miscreant as my own and trying to get them to shape up and fly right.

I will then be acquitted, achieve celebrity status, and create a non-profit called "smack those miscreants" that takes in millions, allows me to travel globally and hobnob with the likes of Bono, Charlize Theron, the Clintons, Desmond Tutu, and the Dali Lama, and gives me the impetus to preach to others about the benefits of smacking kids upside the head. I will then win the Nobel Peace Prize, further cementing my role in ending thuggery across the globe!

Somewhere in the middle
Happy, there was the day when, if a child misbehaved, you could count on the neighbor beating the snot out of you, then telling your parents, who then proceeded to knock the cr@p out of you.

Been there,
done that,
got the T-shirt
and sold it in a garage sale.

goodness, just had another brainstorm...

local news story today said that a blighted property would be razed by the city, at a cost of $151,000 in taxpayer funds. Instead of doing this, maybe we could use a smaller portion of funds to import some of the looters/rioters from Ferguson, Baltimore, and anywhere else they can be found, and have them specifically target just blighted property that it takes cities too long to get legal permission to raze and costs way too much money...this allows the rioters/looters the opportunity to destroy private property, lets cities get rid of blighted properly at a significantly lower cost, doesn't put businesses at risk, and doesn't threaten people because the properties are abandoned...

I may end up with 2 Nobel Prizes at this rate...

You'd have to stock the blighted property with booze, electronics and other things worth stealing or the "rioters" would have no reason to destroy the property. Not to mention, you need a 'cause' for the 'riot'.

please don't confuse rioters with looters...rioters look for an excuse to destroy, looters look for an excuse to plunder...

I still have this same T-Shirt at home.

"1992 Los Angeles Triathlon April 29 - May 2
Shoot. Loot. Scoot. Who said sports can't be a riot."

The Ebay seller of this shirt included the following comment.

"Not sure why the creators of this shirt thought it was funny:"

It isn't funny in a humorous sort of way. The irony is crystal clear to any thinking person.

Careful, Happy. A guy in Washington state tried to used Biden as a defense and still got in trouble.

the only good thing about attending a MLB game in person is going with a group of friends you haven't seen in a while as it gives you plenty of time to catch up on what has been going on in each others lives as you drink expensive beers and eat overpriced hotdogs and eagerly await something exciting to happen...went to a Yankees game last year, the only excitement was the 2 drunk guys who were so belligerent that the "Bleacher Creatures" asked the cops to remove them...which was done very forcefully.

" ... eagerly await ..."

Didn't you intend to say "desperately await?" Or perhaps "hopelessly await."
