I always learned that a SAR Narrative had to be all capital letters. Someone recently told me that this requirement changed, when the new SAR form was issued. IS this correct?

Thank you

How long ago were you told this and by whom? We don't do a lot of SARs but totally unfamiliar with this "requirement."

"Text entries may be in upper/lower case or all upper case."

We still do all Caps.

It was never a requirement...

The government's software was so cheap it turned it into all caps regardless of what you typed in. Law enforcement oftentimes asked for a copy of the bank's copy of the SAR (something they presumably already had) just because it was easier to read.

Ken's absolutely right. Law enforcement, along with FinCEN analysts, prefer lower case; makes it easier to identify subjects/proper names in the text.
