Totally curious...who here works from home or has "flex" hours? And, who is tied to a desk...?

Work at my office desk about 10 months of the year, then about 2 months of the summer remote/home.

I have regular hours chained to the desk, and then by the miracle of email and texts and google docs on my phone give me the flex time to keep working after I'm home, or when on vacation, or in the bathroom.

I was at the copy machine yesterday and our bank president walked by. He did a double take, backed up and said to me, "what are you doing out of your office?". I told him that he forgot to tightened my desk chains and I slipped out of them...

In order of company preference - client, office, remote location.

State of confusion

I work from home whenever possible, and have 5 branches - 2 of which I do visit on a pretty regular basis. But all on my time frame when possible. Tied to a desk only when we have external auditors or examiners on site. I also have pretty flexible hours, but that only means I generally end up working about 60 hours a week....

I am 24/7, much of it from home or on the road.
We do have a policy that requires not only a two-week vacation, but a "sabbatical" - which means IT locks me out of the ability to connect to the bank in any manner. But no one does my work!

ours is up to the mgr & dept. I can work from home whenever I want to-as long as a meeting or something important doesn't need attended in person. I work from home on days where I have house repairs & you're waiting on someone "sometime between 8-5"-those kinds of things.I also allow my employees to do the same as I would rather have them working, than not. This saves their PTO and keeps them as happy campers as well. However, none of us abuse it.
