Same here. It's annoying.

It's being tested. Some users have said they like it. It can only be activated/turned off globally for now, so we will probably not leave it "on" for long. Later, it will be a user-option.

Thanks - I don't care for it either.

ETA - Although I did learn something. I didn't realize I could click on the lit envelopes next to a thread that I wasn't interested in to turn it off (like CRA - not the CRA Officer). That was cool.

We are currently testing this feature. As of this version, it is either on or off site wide. In our redesign of the site the feature will be able to be toggled on or off in each user's profile. We hope that version will be available in June (of course I have been wrong before as to when various software will be released so please don't hold me to it!)

I will leave it up through tomorrow to see if we get additional comments then will remove until it can be set in each user's preferences.

My vote would be to put it in the user preferences.

Personally , I don't care for it.

It's different and I appreciate that it is annoying to have the previews opening as I move my cursor across the screen to get to the post I want. On the other hand, we've all taken a few extra seconds to open a thread titled "BSA Question" in the BSA Forum...Since posters do not always provide good descriptions in their titles, the preview may at least tell me what the question is before I click. Thanks for trying something new regardless of how it is received.

The test has been shut down and the option turned off. The next time you see the feature, there will be a user option to deactivate it.

It bugged me. Having it as a choice is certainly a nice feature, however.

Agree. I would probably have gotten used to it if it was permanent, but I will toggle it off when it is an option. I do appreciate the site trying new features and evolving!

PQ - don't actually think they are envelopes - but the yellow squares next to a thread. Sorry for the confusion. And it's just for the current threads - not permanently like they used to do.

Ahhh... I think I misunderstood, thought I could hide or suppress an entire so I don't see it if it's not of interest to me.

You can. I have mine set up so that my "view" when I open BOL is posts only in my watched forums. I do not "watch" forums in which I don't ordinarily have any interest.
