Lets go get skin cancer, step on sharp objects buried in the burning sand and swim in infected waters with hundreds of other people using the water as a public pee pee

What is not to love?

There--it's out in the open. Now I feel better about getting that off my chest.

Been to the Maui beach. Very nice! One of my favorite pics was taken in the morning when the sun was coming up. When looking at the pics later there was a lady bent over putting down a towel wearing a thong. I named the picture, "The crack of Dawn", but honestly, I am not sure that was her name. whistle

ONENANA, Barefoot Beach and Wiggins. I used to live a little over a mile from Barefoot Beach (and less than a mile as the bird flies). I like Vanderbilt Beach and Lowdermilk Park better, though.

2. Barefoot Beach Preserve County Park, Bonita Springs, Florida

This beach in Southwest Florida is 8,200 foot long and located in a 342 acre park. The surf is gentle with waves generally being measured in inches, and the water is very shallow, making this a great beach for bathing and swimming for families. The sand is fine and contains many small shells.

9. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, Naples, Florida

This 166-acre beach park is characterized by sea oats on the sand dunes, backed by cabbage palms and woodlands that provide shaded picnic areas. The beach is composed of fine white sand and millions of seashells. An observation tower within the park allows visitors a good view of this natural enclave within an urbanized area. There are bathrooms, changing stalls, and outside rinse showers. Head to the beach early in the morning or late afternoon in order to avoid the crowds and traffic backups during the prime vacation season.

The family (read wife and kids) are wanting to go to Florida this year. Been looking at Clearwater to Marco Island, etc. the Marco Island deal has a cruise over to Key West for one day.

Clearwater beach is really nice, the sand is like fine sugar! Never been to Marco Island but love Key West, so I would go with Marco and visit Key West.

Clearwater is beautiful and Soccer is right, their beach and sand are amazing.

The ride one from to Key West is a 3.5 hour ride. If she's talking about the Key West Express, the boat from Marco Island departs seasonally December through April. The one from Fort Myers Beach departs year round on all days except those indicated on their calendar "No Sailing" so I'd make sure I checked their site.

Nope to slow, I prefer the Tornado ride at the Wolf Lodge water park!! 30 seconds of pure wet terror then you pop out the bottom and it is over.

Last time I was at the beach I was stung several time by jellyfish, one of my friends split his foot open on a stingray and wo had to be get out of the water due to sharks twice. And I still had a good time. Like I said what is not to love!!

Loved all the beachy, sandy stuff and pee-pee water in my younger days, but now with my Lupus I cannot be exposed to the sun for for long! So my idea of fun now is to sit in a casino at the slot machine, drinking one of those beachy drinks that has an umbrella in it!

Wife got stung a few times as well but no lasting effects. My friend we where visiting took us to this area as the jelly where smaller and did not have the same level of stings that got his sister on the ocean side the year before. She got wrapped into it with a total of 48 stings and ended up paralised for about a day from the venom and had to stay a couple days in the hospital.
Also the manta-rays are generally smaller on the gulf side he thought.

Wow, that's terrible. I've been on the Gulf side for 17+ years and never had a jelly fish sting (hope I don't get one now).

A few weeks ago I was at Mexico Beach, Florida, on the panhandle east of Panama City Beach. About a half hour after I got out of the water, a guy caught a three foot shark from the pier. It wasn't Jaws, but it was big enough that it could bite a piece out of you.

There are some beautiful unspoiled beaches in that area that are off limits because they're part of Tyndall AFB. The government could sell that land for a fortune.
