I went looking for some sheriff Buford T Justice quotes, but I am not sure they would make it past the censors laugh

Junior: You know, Daddy, I don't think the Bandit's really bad. I think the trouble is he just got in with real bad company.

Buford T. Justice: Bad company? Let me tell ya somethin', Junior. When you raid a cathouse, you take the piano player too.

Might use that last line when explaining to your ceo why we need to do something to stay in compliance whistle

I remember my Dad taking me to see this in the theater. Still one of my favorites. Man, that was a great summer, Smokey and the Bandit and Star Wars.

And thanks, QCL, East Bound and Down is now stuck in my head.

We got a long way to go and a short time to get there....

I haven't seen the movie. Could be because I was negative 11 at the time.

Way, way south.
I was 10 and this movie was EPIC to a little car-crazy kid.

Wasn't a big fan of Sally Fields but the rest of the cast was great.

Burt doesn't look very well these days, unfortunately.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
so if i'm catching a common thread here...if you weren't born when a movie came out, you don't ever see it...

the Ten Commandments
Wizard of Oz
Gone With the Wind
High Noon
Casablanca
The African Queen
The Man Who Would Be King
Ghandi

I could go on and on...so many great movies that came out before many of us were born (Pale excluded)...

I know friends of my son who never saw the 3 original star wars movies...never saw Jaws...the Shining...

But have seen all 700 "Scream" and "I know what you did last summer" and "Saw" movies...

go figure...I forget who said it, but "youth truly is wasted on the young"

I, for one, love Smokey and the Bandit. I was actually references another movie that was made before I was born, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

King Arthur: Old woman!

Dennis: Man.

King Arthur: Man, sorry. What knight lives in that castle over there?

Dennis: I'm 37.

King Arthur: What?

Dennis: I'm 37. I'm not old.

I've only seen Wizard of Oz on your list, but I have seen Star Wars, Jaws, and the Shining (only a few months ago and only because I read the book first).

I also really like 12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda.

But I haven't seen any of the Scream, I know what..., and only a few of the Saw movies.

Of the above I have see all except the last 3. I will have to add them to my list to see. I like old movies. Sometimes I feel I should have been born 50 years before I was.

The only one I have seen on this list is Wizard of Oz. There are a lot of classics that I haven't seen (my friends are always saying "You haven't seen ...?"

It's hard when there are so many movies out there, especially works of art that require multiple viewings to capture all of the nuances like Beerfest and Beavis and Butthead Do America.

Big Western fan...

Have an almost complete John Wayne collection. Working on my Jimmy Stewart, Dean Martin, Clint Eastwood collections now.

Not a big Bogart fan, so haven't watched all of his movies. He just annoys me for some reason. I like Henry Fonda movies too. Love Spencer's Mountain.

But back to the OP, I loved Cannon Ball Run . Captain Chaaos! DA Da Dum!

And the Dr. laugh

J.J. McClure: You may be a little over qualified for this job.
