Something tells me that this belongs here rather than business threads. Speculation and facts?

Pulling people out of the ditc...
well, as the article says he is not a target because it is intended to catch rings and not individuals, his only worry is if the PGA comes after him...and golf is so freaking boring to begin with, would anyone even notice if he was playing or not?

however, if we can somehow tie this to Brady and the Patriots, it would possibly make it more exciting, but just barely so...

There was that time back in 2000 that Mickelson wagered $20,000 on the Baltimore Ravens to win it all before the season started. They went on that season to shock the world by blowing out the Giants 34-7, netting Mickelson a cool $560,000.

In the early days of golf, most made more betting than the winnings in tourneys.

in the early days of golf? back when Ogg and Krugg were chasing petrified pterodactyl eggs across the frozen tundra while swatting them with mastodon bones?

Not much detail in the story. It reminds me of the stories about Dennis Hastert. The writers don't understand laundering and AML well enough to be able to clearly write about it.

Sounds like at the worst, Phil lost some big bets. What the other guy did with the money isn't Phil's problem, is it?

I wonder if Pete Rose would like to comment.

Some of the reports claim that the money was laundered for his benefit. (but who knows if there was more to the story I would have posted it to the business threads)
