Becca has. They are on my list, but I have all the Anita Blake's to read first and that's if I ever finish Outlander and the spinoff Becca told me about.

I just started reading the Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffery Deaver. So far I'm liking it. Pretty intense stuff though.

Spinoff is the Lord John Grey stuff? I skipped all of those, as I didn't really like his character until the most recent book. I may go back and pick them up now though.

Skittles - I did...and I found myself seeking out some of the others of his I had not read...

Just went through the entire Brian Haig collection (his Dad is former Sec. of State Andrew Haig). Good stuff.

Now catching up on some James Lee Burke novels I haven't read yet...

Yep, they're great! Be sure to read the Alpha & Omega spin-off books while you're at it, and then give Faith Hunter's "Jane Yellowrock" series a try. All of them feature kick-@ss female shifter lead characters.

I finished the rest of Diana Gabaldon's works last week (Lord John Grey spin-off books and novellas) and decided I needed something a little different, so I pulled out some good ol' Christopher Moore - A Dirty Job. Always good for a few laughs!

I recently read The Gunslinger; first book in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I tend to like his books pretty well, I'm anxious to read the rest of the series.

Thanks Becca - I will write down Faith Hunter. (The A&O ones Amazon is already suggesting for me. smile )

John Hartness' new one comes out tomorrow - very much looking forward to finding out what the Black Knight boys are up to.

Yes, and yes. Even the full-length books are MUCH shorter than the Outlander stuff, and they are fast, light reads. I enjoyed them. Then again, I liked Lord John's character from the first moment he jumped out of the woods and tried to cut Jamie's throat at 16. He's got moxy. smile

is the Dark Tower the ones he wrote for teens? So his kids could read his books?

I tried reading this three times ... never made it half-way. I won't try a fourth time. I am currently reading the first Odd Thomas book, I really like it so far.

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
Love Odd Thomas books! The Gunslinger was not my fav and NO I don't think it was written for young adults. Although it took me 20 years to read that series(took him that long to write it) and he was hit by that car before he wrote the last book in the series. For kids he wrote "The Eye of the Dragon".

The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan is a very good read. These books (12 total, I think) are written for younger readers, but the story line is quite good and not a whole lot of wasted pages. They are an easy and fun read.

Been busy reading lately:

1. finished Clive Cussler's "the Piranha" and "The Assassin"
2. Moved on to Jerry Jenkin's sequel to "I,Saul" -"Empire's End" finished that and
3. started his chronicles of Jesus series on Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Finished "John" and have started on "Mark".

4. Have David Mccullough's "The Wright Brothers" and Ravi Zacharis's "Why Suffering" waiting when I finish "Mark", "Luke", and "Matthew".

I just finished "River of Doubt," which is an account of Teddy Roosevelt's exploration of the Amazon. It's not one I ever would have chosen on my own (book club book) but I ended up really enjoying it!

I love biographies and historical books. That was one of my favs. Not part of history they teach in school.

I'm reading "Pretty Little Killers: The Truth Behind the Savage (why bother with the rest)" by ...I can't remember.

It's a true story and maybe that's why I don't like it but I think mostly it is written poorly. It makes me wonder who some people can get books publised and others can't.

I recently purchased the movie based on one of the books. Was done by the guy that did the first two Mummy movies. Was a good movie, but not the happiest of endings. I should see if I can add these books to my Amazon list.
