When I was in college, I worked summers in a warehouse. We had these small flat trailers that would hold a couple of pallets. We'd hook em up like a train and haul from receiving to the warehouse. Each one had a hitch on the front that looked like a gator with it's mouth open. They were shin high and hurt like heck when you smacked into them, and were affectionately called "gator bites".

when you're climbing down the ladder and you're thinking you're reaching for the last rung but it's the second to last or third to last rung, yet you step off I did that in a Rain Forest Cafe in Chicago coming down the stairs. I was mesmerized by the fish tank and missed a couple steps. Next thing I knew I was down on my knees wondering what happened

I leave my hitch on all the time. After many, many, many shin bruises, I've learned to walk wide around the back end of the truck.

The last time I forgot to take my trailer hitch off I thought I was going to have to have my kneecap surgically removed from my upper thigh. Dang! They let people 3 feet tall drive in your state?

Maybe that would be true if I drove a Ford Ranger but a Chevy Silverado HD1500 4X4 sits a little higher.

I did that in a Rain Forest Cafe in Chicago coming down the stairs. I was mesmerized by the fish tank and missed a couple steps. Next thing I knew I was down on my knees wondering what happened Once it was surmised that he was okay, there was a bit of laughter related to that incident! Mine is the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs that go up to the bedrooms. Keeps the dogs downstairs, but all too often I trip when stepping over it, usually while carrying a full laundry basket. Falling up the stairs isn't too bad, but one of these days I'll smack into the tile floor or the front door when coming down the stairs.

My wife leaves cabinet doors open in the kitchen. They are high enough for her to walk under. They are low enough for me to slam my head into. She also leaves her top desk drawer open at work, and has come home with bruises more than once.
