Has anyone seen this companion show to the Walking Dead? I really like it so far. I never would have thought of raiding the local high school for supplies.

I also watched the first episode.
What is the timeline in relation to the other show? Are they concurrent or is the LA show much earlier than the ATL?

The show in LA is supposed to be set from the very beginning of it all. Whereas the original is set after the initial "spread" has occurred while Rick was in a coma.

My husband is obsessed with the original, so of course we are watching this one too. We didn't watch last night's episode - we opted to lose many brain cells, at least a few IQ points, and 2 1/2 hours of our lives to the VMAs. We will watch it tonight.

I love the story lines and especially love finding all of the spoilers. But I try to keep busy while watching the actual show since I don't care for all the blood and guts.

I'm a casual watcher of the first show. Hubby loves it so I watch it with him most of the time but I could take it or leave it. The gore doesn't bother me as much as the characters. For some reason I loathe Rick so that sort of casts a shadow over the whole show.

But the LA version definitely got my attention. I like the family dynamic so far and I think it will interesting to see how quickly people need to come to grips with this new reality.

Yes, while everyone else is raiding the drug stores, it's off to school for the nurse's supplies. These blended families are a hot mess.

LOVE the original Walking Dead - started watch this one. Not bad but not pulling me in like the WD did right off the bat.

BabyCompliacne I feel the same way about the lead female in this one as you do about Rick. She annoyed me in Gone Girl and now in this too I think it is her voice IDK

Interested to know what the deal is with the barber family the step father is hiding out with.

Anyone else wonder whihc "dessert" they are meeting at??? Meet me at the dessert.....really the one single dessert in the Western part of the US OK

The "dessert" (Mojave) is so huge, it is usually broken up into regions. People often have second homes in different areas. "Meet me in the dessert" likely refers to a vacation spot they all know.

Geographically speaking, there are three distinct deserts in the American Southwest: Chihuahuan, the largest in North America; Sonoran, second largest; and Mojave, the hottest.

At one time, there was not a distinction between the Mojave, Sonoran and Great Basin desserts since they are all adjacent. It used to all be considered Mojave.

Well, LA is now joining those great wastelands.

I was disappointed there was not a new episode on Sunday. I hope they make it to the desert before the mini season is over.

For real Dazed A! I missed the week before and got off the 3-card poker table this past Sunday night to watch the 3rd episode. I was like you, disappointed. But as a consolation, I was able to watch the episode I missed since they ran that a couple of times. this series is kind of slow, I don't think they will make it anywhere by October.

You never know when the story could pick up speed but I agree that they probably won't make it far before the show takes a break. I think there are only a total of 6 episodes before it breaks for the Walking Dead premiere in mid October.

I honestly think they are dragging it out becasue they 1. don't haev the comic to somewhat follow and have to come up with the story from scratch and 2. once they go "full blown zombie apocolypse" it will just be a lesser version of TWD
Did not miss that there wasn't an eposode this week ..... enjoyed them showing commercials for TWD new season starting in October though

Fear the Walking Dead

is this the show where a group of people (mostly brain dead people) are stuck in a house and are eliminated one at a time?

No. That would be the Clinton administration.

Think they have a good idea of where the storyline will go but they want it to be different from The Walking Dead so are pacing it slower.

Did anyone recognize the drug addicted son from one of the Harry Potter movies?
