At renewal for a HELOC on a second home, the customer would like to increase the line and add her husband. The husband would not sign the mortgage but he is signing the note, wouldn't this technically satisfy and replace the current note with a new note and therefore not be a renewal anymore?

I see, it doesn't make a difference is what you are saying. Well is it something that can be done? We wouldn't need rescission because it is on a second home, but the adding of the spouse is throwing me.

It is just a new plan, nothing more, nothing less.
