Has anyone watched this in the past? Is anyone watching the new season?

Overall, I like the concept of AHS. Freak Show was a huge disappointment for me. Hotel (I saw the premier episode) looks like it can regain the momentum earlier seasons had.

I've watched all the seasons and just watched the season premiere last night. Haven't really like the last two season (Coven and Freak Show) but I agree with Bacon Boy and think Hotel has potential and might be comparable to the first season. I might not be staying at hotels for awhile after watching this season though, the premiere really freaked me out.

This will be the first season without Jessica Lange. Hopefully it will not disappoint.

I'm with Pale. I caught an episode or two of Asylum and was....well......horrified that such darkness could be shown prime time. It was enough to give me nightmares, and I don't typically remember what I dream.

I agree it is surprising what can be shown on cable TV during prime time. AHS: Hotel has been very dark and only like 2 episodes have aired.

It's not my kind of show either. My husband has liked past seasons (except the carnival one) but the first hotel episode even freaked him out!

I hated the first season - very overrated in my opinion - so I didn't bother with any of the other seasons. I was told yesterday about a very graphic scene involving Schmidt from New Girl in this season...lets just say it didn't do anything to sway my opinion or desire to see the show.

Way, way south.
I started watching the first Hotel episode with the two girls visiting from out of town, but then moved onto something else to watch or left the room, so I was wondering what happened to them.

Also, from the commercials about other episodes, it looked like it was a play on the original serial killer who owned the hotel in Chicago who killed a bunch of travelers in town for the World's Fair in the late 1800's (HH Holmes), which is probably as bizarre a real life story as any fictional story.

I've watched all of the seasons so far with the first season (Murder House) being my favorite by far followed by the third (Coven) . I've only seen the first episode for this new season only because we usually record them and then binge watch all day once season is over. From what I saw in that first episode I am thinking (and hoping) it regains it's edge from season 1...

Season two Asylum was my favorite also. I'm going to miss Jessica Lange in this season.

The two girls are dead. One tried to escape and the Countess slit her throat. The other one was drained by the vampire children.

I watched a few minutes of the show with my husband. I'm not weak stomached or easily shocked but I thought the gore on this show was just way over the top for basic cable. And I watch the Bastard Executioner (also on FX) and it's pretty gory. It flabbergasts me that level of violence and gore is allowed but nudity and cussing is still forbidden.

Well, if it was nudity and cussing you were after then you should have just kept watching. laugh

I enjoyed the first season and tolerated the third season (wife enjoyed it). We didn't last very long into seasons 2 and 4. This season we've watched the first episode, and we're already out.
